The Role:
The Third Party Information Security Assessment Lead Assessor is responsible for conducting and completing an ongoing book of third party information security assessments for the TPISA utility function within the SoFi Information Security organization. These efforts require subject matter expertise for Information Security Key Controls across various third party service categories a keen focus on critical process step adherence supporting multiple legal vehicles functions and business units and adherence to pre-defined service level agreements. The role will also require a clear understanding of data risk use and ownership scenarios business use cases and artifact evidence from third parties evidencing control design and operational effectiveness.
The TPISA Lead Assessor will also need to work with the Third Party Relationship Managers from the business to drive resolution of all issues coming from completed incomplete or past due assessments. Once action plans are formalized the TPISA Lead Assessor will bring all remediation plans to governance allowing for efficient review and approval from the SoFi Information Security leadership team. This role requires a strategic approach to Third Party Information Security Risk Assessment alignment with relevant regulations and industry standards and the adherence to Third Party principles and best practices.
The TPISA Lead Assessor needs to also support the TPISA Program Manager in overall program maturity system and tool enhancement load balancing requests across the team and building strong relationships with the business Vendor Management Procurement Legal Compliance and addition the TPISA Lead Assessor needs to partner and communicate effectively with 2nd 3rd and 4th line of defense counterparts on process risk and control review.
What Youll Do:
- Lead and manage TPISA execution for a book of third parties ensuring timely delivery and adherence to program service level agreements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the book of third parties under review providing sound rationales for inherent risk control strength residual risk and corrective action plans.
- Draft and deliver detailed Issue Capture forms that dimension TPISA related Issues Risks and Remediation Plans in order to bring the business into Compliance.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure TPISA key lifecycle stages and steps are met.
- Work across business units and legal vehicles to understand the source and context of the non-compliance via the Issue Capture and bring forward to Governance.
- Work within the TPISA system of record and drive for consistency auditability and enforcement of key lifecycle steps and industry best practices.
- Engage effectively with key stakeholders from both inside and outside the SoFi Cybersecurity team for formal review and approval of Assessments and Issues.
What Youll Need:
- Bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science Information Security Risk Management or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a Third Party Information Security Assessment role in a highly regulated organization.
- Hold one or more relevant industry certifications such as a CRISC CISSP CISA or CISM.
- Proven ability to quickly assimilate new information and drive for ongoing effective Cybersecurity Program Management best practices.
- Experience with regulatory examinations and a strong technical understanding of audit and testing concepts.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment managing multiple Assessments and Issues concurrently.
- In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (e.g. NIST PCI ISO 27000 series) and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational leadership decision-making and communication skills.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Nice To have:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Understanding of cloud security frameworks and risk management programs.
- Subject matter expertise in 3 or more Cybersecurity key control domains.
- Experience working in both regulated Financial Services and Financial Technology startup environments.
