Job Summary:The Physics Researcher I contributes to the planning and design of physics research and creative projects. Performs supporting research and creative activities such as data analysis monitoring outcomes performing lab maintenance and/or performing experiments and creating creative projects. May assist in short- and long-term planning and project goals. May assist with research and creative proposals and dissemination of project findings.
Additional Department Summary:Works with the DCS (Detector Control System) for the control of the CMS detector the CMSSW software for the reconstruction of the CMS data and several other software and hardware systems in use at the CERN laboratory.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and two (2) years of physics or closely related research experience; OR masters degree or higher and some physics or closely related research experience. Post-Baccalaureate degree is highly preferred (Masters degree or higher).
Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree or higher.
