This role will work with various stakeholders including CEO CFO as well as Regional Office for financial reporting and forecasting and driving company results.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation of all actuarial financial reporting in compliance with local regulation IFRS and Canadian standards and policies.
Ensure accuracy for Regulatory reports Regional reports and Audit reports.
Provide insightful forecasting of financial KPI developing a deep understanding of the drivers of earnings New Business Value (NBV) and other metrics. Report on quarterly financial results with clear explanation of deviations from expected results to give confidence to Senior Management on the outlook.
Play an integral role in the annual Business Planning process.
Monitoring policyholder experience and drive management actions where necessary.
Drive business plan process from financial perspective and deliver within shareholder expectations.
Formulate reinsurance management strategy that is appropriate to the companys overall risk profile and financial condition.
Establish and ensure execution of governance process.
Supporting other departments in assessing initiatives and projects as and when required.
Participate actively in insurance industry discussions. Guide the industry to navigate regulation changes and development of the actuarial profession.
Manage a team of actuaries with a wide range of experience levels driving high performance to optimize contribution to the objectives described above.
Required Qualifications:
Professional designation as an Actuary (FSA or equivalent preferred) with demonstrated strong technical skills and expertise in application of life insurance actuarial concepts
Strong negotiating and influencing skills: work with and influence other groups on an ongoing basis procure resource support and manage cross functional initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
15 years of experience in financial management of an insurance business with deep understanding of the profit drivers of the business
