This position is responsible for creating and advocating for policies and practices that foster equity accessibility and meaningful participation across all aspects of community life. By collaborating with local and state partners advocacy organizations families and service providers the supervisor ensures that the voices of people with developmental disabilities are heard and valued in decision-making addition this role provides direct leadership to staff offering supervision professional development and strategic direction to align daily operations with the agencys mission. Support community consultation by working with neighborhoods civic law enforcement religious and businesses etc. to create opportunities for people served to contribute. - Manage family engagement work to guide families in using planning tools and networking. Support development of new initiatives empowering families.
- Participate in local and regional workgroups consult with representatives from the Ohio Association of County Boards (OACB) and attends trainings provided by Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) in order to keep the Agency at the forefront of changes within the Developmental Disabilities system. Keep current with all DODD rules impacting provider compliance county board administration Major Unusual Incident Prevention and Service and Support Administration.
- Provide monthly reports to the Director of Plans Innovation and Quality to provide agencys board with requested data provide updates on new developments and supply the Superintendent and Board of Directors with a snapshot of the status of the agencys current status regarding Advocacy Life Course Planning Inclusion and Family Engagement (A.L.I.F.E.).
- Partner with Community Relations team to share integration stories and outcomes.
- Assure work on Integration and Advocacy team is coordinated with other Office of Planning Innovation & Quality teams to support innovative agency efforts at moving towards integration in everything we do and building community capacity.
Requirements: - Bachelors degree Masters preferred in public or health administration social/human services or related field
- Four years of demonstrably related experience
- Must be able to pass criminal background checks and various abuser registry check.
