ELLE Magazine is seeking a part-time freelance assistant to support the Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief. This role is based in our New York City office and requires an on-site presence three days per week totaling 24 hours. Responsibilities include a range of daily tasks such as sample trafficking running errands and providing scheduling support. The ideal candidate is highly organized detail-oriented and a strong team player. This freelance position is part of a 6-month program with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities (What are you doing)
- Communicate with brands to coordinate sample loans for events
- Maintain a detailed sample tracking system including photographing all check-ins and check-outs and updating tracking spreadsheets accordingly
- Coordinate messenger services for deliveries and returns or pick up items in person when needed
- Manage and log gifts and write thank you note drafts
- Assist with administrative errands including lunch pickups for the Editor-in-Chief
- Maintain an organized calendar of upcoming events in Excel to support planning and scheduling
- Create prep documents and face sheets for events shoots or high-level meetings
- Distribute magazine issues every month to any brands featured or credited in print
Qualifications (What Were Looking For)
- Previous fashion assistant or sample tracking experience either as an intern or freelance/staff
- Extremely organized and able to manage high-volume of tasks effectively and efficiently
- Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills particularly when working in a deadline-driven environment
- A passion for editorial content and knowledge of the latest fashion trends brands pop-culture moments etc.
The base salary for this role is between $18/hr. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors such as: transferable skills work experience business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
