Job Summary

Job Title-Civil Construction Labourer
Location: WindsorON
Pay: $20-23 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities

Site preparation

Clearing and leveling the construction site

Digging trenches holes and foundations

Loading and unloading materials and equipment

Erecting scaffolding and temporary structures

Construction and maintenance

Mixing pouring and spreading concrete and other materials

Operating heavy equipment such as excavators bulldozers and cranes

Using hand and power tools to cut and shape materials

Installing and repairing drainage systems sewer lines and water mains

Assisting skilled tradespeople such as carpenters and masons

Safety and compliance

Following safety procedures and regulations

Wearing personal protective equipment

Identifying and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions

Ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Training

High school diploma or equivalent

On-the-job training is often provided by the employer

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks

Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions

Experience

Experience in construction or a related field is an asset

Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset

Skills and Abilities

Abilitity to drive a skid steer would be a plus.
Strong attention to detail

Good communication skills

Ability to work well in a team

Basic mathematical skills

Good problem-solving skills

Willingness to learn and take on new tasks

Working Conditions

Work Schedule

Civil construction labourers typically work full-time with some overtime and weekend work required

May also be required to work on call or on short notice

Environment

Construction sites can be loud dirty and hazardous

May be required to work at heights or in confined spaces

Travel

Some travel may be required to work on different construction sites
