Emergency Department (Day Shift) Location: Utica NY 13502
Duration: 13-week Contract
Shift: 12-hour Day Shift 6:30 AM 7:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekly Pay: $2088 - $2268; (Negotiable based on experience)
Job Summary:
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality compassionate and efficient care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions. The RN will work collaboratively with physicians advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department in accordance with established nursing standards and hospital policies.
- Perform rapid assessments triage and interventions for patients with acute medical surgical or trauma conditions.
- Administer medications monitor patient responses and document care using the EPIC EMR system.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate appropriate dispositions.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatments procedures and discharge instructions.
- Serve as charge nurse when required (charge capability highly preferred).
- Float to other departments as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements (Required):
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in New York State (and verification of all other RN licenses).
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience with some Pediatric ED exposure.
- Previous travel nursing experience is required.
- Certifications (must be current):
- American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) Required and must be in hand
- EMR Experience: EPIC (Required)
- Strong critical thinking communication and teamwork skills.
