About the job

Advantra is partnering with a mid-stage cloud infrastructure startup in Phoenix to hire a DevOps Engineer to manage GitHub Actions Kubernetes clusters and related DevOps infrastructure.

About the role

You will manage and maintain GitHub Enterprise Services and GitHub Actions workflows including self-hosted runners and automation pipelines. You will administer Kubernetes clusters configure resources and storage and monitor performance. The role involves optimizing cluster resources maintaining hardware and cloud infrastructure and supporting containerized microservices in production.

Responsibilities

Manage GitHub Actions workflows self-hosted runners and autoscaling environments.
Administer Kubernetes clusters using kubectl Helm and Rancher.
Monitor and optimize cluster resources including pods nodes and namespaces.
Plan and implement GHES upgrades replication and disaster recovery.
Automate workflows with GitHub APIs CLI Terraform and Ansible.
Maintain hardware and cloud infrastructure supporting Kubernetes clusters.
Ensure DevOps security best practices in workflows and clusters.
Design and maintain Kubernetes cluster layouts and storage configurations.
Collaborate with engineering teams to support microservices deployments.

Core requirements

7 years of experience in GitHub Enterprise Services administration.
3 years of experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production.
Proven experience with GitHub Actions and self-hosted runners.
Strong scripting skills in Python Java or Bash.
Experience with Terraform and Ansible for automation.
Knowledge of containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with GitHub REST/GraphQL APIs and GitHub CLI.
Experience planning and executing GHES upgrades replication and disaster recovery.
Cloud experience with GitHub Cloud or GCP.
Understanding of DevOps security best practices.

Nice to have

Experience with Helm and Rancher for Kubernetes management.
Familiarity with internal service optimizations in GHES.
Monitoring expertise with Prometheus Grafana or similar tools.
Experience with microservices architecture deployments.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines beyond GitHub Actions.
