Firmware / BIOS Developer for a 12-month onsite contract role based in Houston TX.

Firmware / BIOS Developer Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware / BIOS Developer to design develop and debug firmware for PC platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to develop UEFI/BIOS code integrate new hardware components and ensure seamless system performance through all development and validation phases.

Responsibilities:

Design develop and maintain BIOS/UEFI firmware for client and commercial platforms.

Collaborate with hardware driver and validation teams on system bring-up and feature integration.

Develop and maintain low-level firmware code in C/C for platform initialization and configuration.

Implement and debug ACPI tables SMBIOS structures and platform-specific BIOS features.

Analyze hardware schematics to support board bring-up and hardware-firmware integration.

Support platform validation root-cause analysis and issue resolution for pre- and post-release builds.

Participate in code reviews continuous improvement and firmware optimization.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

5 years of experience in BIOS/UEFI firmware development for x86 platforms.

Strong programming skills in C/C with solid debugging experience.

Experience with Intel or AMD platform initialization POST flow and bootloaders.

Familiarity with ACPI SMBIOS PCIe and firmware security concepts.

Experience using firmware development tools compilers and emulators.

Excellent problem-solving communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
