Onsetter

Requirements:

• Onsetter Certificate of Competency (essential).
• Grade 10 (Standard 8) or higher qualification.
• Proven underground mining experience (at least 2 years preferred).
• Sound knowledge of mine safety regulations and procedures.
• Physically fit and medically cleared for underground work.
• Strong communication teamwork and situational awareness skills.

Responsibilities:

• Operate the winding system safely and efficiently to transport personnel materials and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) regulations.
• Conduct regular safety checks on winding equipment and related systems.
• Communicate effectively with banksmen hoist drivers and underground personnel.
• Follow operational procedures and maintain accurate logbooks and records.
• Report any faults incidents or irregularities immediately to the relevant supervisor.
• Uphold a high standard of safety reliability and professionalism at all times.
