Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Full-Time Self-Contained Special Education Program

Were is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a self-contained special education program serving students with low-incidence and profound disabilities. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting communication and language development for students with complex needs in a structured and nurturing environment.
About the Role
As a Speech-Language Pathologist in this specialized program you will provide direct and consultative speech and language services to a caseload of approximately 2530 students. These students may have significant communication challenges including limited verbal ability alternative communication needs and multiple disabilities. You will play a vital role in helping each student access their education develop functional communication skills and enhance overall participation in daily classroom activities.
What youll Do:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech language and communication abilities.
- Train and support staff in the use of AAC devices visual supports and communication tools.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions progress monitoring and compliance requirements.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with each students needs and goals.
- Participate in IEP meetings student reviews and professional development opportunities to continuously improve service delivery.
- Provide individual and small-group therapy focused on expressive and receptive language articulation social communication and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
- Collaborate with teachers paraprofessionals occupational therapists physical therapists and other related service providers to ensure consistent implementation of communication strategies across settings.
Requirements
- Active Illinois Speech Language Pathology license.
- Strong collaboration problem-solving and communication skills.
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Experience working with students with profound or multiple disabilities preferred.
