Job Summary
Panel Shop Manager
Direct Hire Blaine MN $125k - $145k
We are seeking an experienced Panel Shop Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our control-panel fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on expertise in panel building/fabrication with strong leadership workflow optimization quality assurance and continuous improvement capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage daily shop operations: scheduling jobs tracking workflow assigning resources and labor to meet production deadlines
- Lead the fabrication of electrical control panels (industrial control PLC cabinets motor controls etc.). Oversee layout wiring assembly enclosure modification testing and shipping
- Serve as a liaison between engineering/design and shop floor: ensure that drawings bills of materials and specifications are communicated clearly and executed accordingly
- Monitor quality and safety: enforce shop safety protocols ensure compliance with industry standards (UL 508A NEC NFPA) perform quality inspections and identify root causes when issues arise.
- Manage material inventory tooling and maintenance of equipment
- Develop coach and mentor the shop team: hire as needed provide training conduct performance reviews
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical panel fabrication assembly or a related manufacturing environment with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial control panels wiring practices schematics enclosure builds drives PLCs motor controls and test procedures
- Familiarity with standards such as UL 508A NEC NFPA 70 etc.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team set production schedules manage workflow and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work across departments and engage with both shop and management levels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook) and ERP/MRP systems (or willingness to learn)
