Reporting and Analyst Lead

Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Reporting and Analyst Lead in Dallas TX who will be responsible to analyze business processes lead cross-functional projects and deliver data-driven reporting solutions that drive strategic decision-making. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities streamline operations and implement impactful initiatives. This is a high-visibility role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced results-oriented environment.

Job Duties

• Project Management: Lead and manage projects from initiation to completion ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and scope.
• Data Analytics: Ability to understand complex data sets and direct development of descriptive diagnostic predictive and prescriptive reporting.
• Report Development: Create and maintain comprehensive reports using Power BI and other M365 tools to visualize data and communicate findings effectively.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness through process mapping.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including IT finance and operations to gather requirements and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Influencing: Influence stakeholders and team members to drive project success and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of combined analyst / project management experience.

Minimum 2years of experience in a refining environment.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Business Information Technology or a related field is required.

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

An advanced degree is preferred.

Required Skills

Proficiency in data analytics Power BI M365 Power Apps and report development. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Knowledge with SQL or other query languages for data extraction and manipulation
• Familiarity with Python or R for advanced analytics and automation
• Knowledge of DAX and Power Query for complex Power BI modeling
• Understanding of data visualization best practices and dashboard UX design
• Experience with SharePoint and Teams integration for collaborative reporting
• Ability to manage projects using Agile or Scrum methodologies
• Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure or SnowFlake for data storage and processing
• Strong business acumen to translate analytics into actionable insights
• Experience with data governance and quality assurance practices
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills to present data to non-technical stakeholders
• Background in Refining Operations to support industry-specific analytics and reporting

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for overseeing the work of 23 contractors ensuring alignment with project goals maintaining quality standards and fostering effective communication and collaboration.

Work Conditions

Office based with travel up to 15% by land and air to all weather and varying road conditions. Petroleum refinery and out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals pressure vessels tanks and rotating equipment.
