Your Team
The Analog Mixed-Signal Competence (AMSCC) department in Eindhoven is part of the worldwide Central Technology Organization (CTO) of NXP that supports all NXP Business Lines by architecting designing and delivering the analog and mixed-signal building blocks that are at the heart of competitive NXP products. You will be working in a diverse team with world-class subject matter specialists where there is always room for new ideas and innovation.
AMSCC employs about 100 analog/mixed-signal design specialists located in the Netherlands India Sweden and US who take full responsibility for IP design and system integration. We are seeking a student intern to analyze the design of a low-noise voltage reference. Impedance measurements require low noise voltage references at low frequencies. The frequency range between 10 mHz to 100 Hz is particularly difficult because flicker noise becomes dominant in CMOS technologies. Large supply voltages with bipolar transistors are typically used to limit the noise at low frequencies and hence in CMOS technologies a different solution is required. Techniques such as chopping and autozeroing can be used but they have their limitations when used for noise at very low frequencies. Trade-offs in power area PSRR and output impedance of the voltage reference are necessary. This requires investigation of various techniques for an enhanced low-noise performance.
Your Responsibilities
Acquire in-depth knowledge of the state of the art of low-noise design techniques.
Analyze and compare different circuits and techniques to design a low-noise CMOS voltage reference.
Develop models and conduct simulations of the low-noise voltage reference.
Summarize the strengths and limitations of the different circuits and design techniques.
Whats in it for you
A great opportunity to develop your skills (technical soft skills communication etc.)
Gaining experience in a multinational and diverse environment
Possibility to become part of NXPs Young Professional Talent Pool
Working on real assignments which contribute to NXPs objectives
Your Profile
MSc student in Electronic Engineering or related field with an emphasis on IC design
Affinity with the state of art analog design/verification flow and tools preferably with Cadence tooling
Creative and positive mindset
Flexible and eager for new challenges
Excellent communication and documentation skills in English
Desire for a career in analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit design
Duration
This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week) with a duration of 6 months or longer. The assignment could also be suitable as a thesis/graduation project. Please note that to be considered for an internship/working student assignment you need to be registered as a student during the entire period.
