Job Summary

Job Title: Instructional Assistant Veterans Middle SchoolPosition Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Assistant to support a middle school student in an inclusive educational setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with the student teachers and support staff to ensure the students academic social and emotional success throughout the school Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one/small group academic support to the assigned student under the direction of the classroom teacher and special education staff.- Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).- Support the student in transitioning between classes and activities.- Monitor and encourage student engagement participation and appropriate behavior.- Help the student stay organized and manage assignments and materials.- Facilitate communication between the student and peers or staff when needed.- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.- Maintain a safe and respectful environment that promotes student independence and self-esteem.- Document daily progress behaviors observations and progress as directed by supervising staff.- Participate in team meetings and professional development as and progress as directed by supervising staff.- Potentially assist the student with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including:- Toileting and hygiene support- Dressing assistance (as needed)- Meal/snack support and supervisionAdditional Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree or higher preferred.- Experience working with middle school-aged children especially in an educational or special education setting.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.- Patience empathy and a genuine interest in supporting student growth.- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with a team.- Must pass background checks and meet all district employment requirements.
