Retail & Banking Technology (R&BT; domain) is a key element of the scalable Tech foundation for INGs strategy going forward. The CIO Office has been in established for some years now and has matured to a great extent. Currently we are supporting the Tribes within R&BT and enable the collaboration with the ING Retail countries which has proven its value with many proof points.
We are looking for acommitted highly organized and delivery-oriented Consultant to work closely with the CIO Office team. The CIO Office coordinates and oversees the strategies and initiatives of Change (incl. Transition) and Transformation Process- Portfolio- and Performance Management Reporting & Data Insights and Generic / Facility business support.
Responsibilities:
The main focus of this role is to support the Global Head of CIO Office and Management team in achieving the key strategic actions and goals that have been set up. The main activities in scope for this role are the following:
- Strategy development - Analysing information and testing hypotheses to identifying optimal technology strategy solutions to address business needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities assess technology trends and develop strategies that align with the companys overall business objectives
- (Non-)Financial Management - Design and implementing reporting frameworks and tools that enhance transparency and decision-making processes including external reporting towards C-level functions
- Collect analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights that support the decision-making process
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans by providing data-driven recommendations and insights
- Coordinate the creation of the storyline for all the initiatives within R&BT and their positioning in the broader organizational context
- Project Delivery - Deliver training facilitate workshops and provide advice and reports to address identified (senior) management issues. Effectively communicating high-level and detailed information
- Business cases Set up business cases in collaboration with stakeholders including key mile stones monitoring and funding
- Alignment with business partners - Partner with business partners on strategic topics to define the scope objectives of assignments and understand the technological infrastructure and their needs to execute on Tech strategy. Participate in (C-level) workshops with business partners
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technology trends and identify opportunities for innovation/ experimentation and growth. Develop expert content and take part in professional forums
- Create expert content and take part in professional forums
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working with financial management program delivery and operational metrics across multiple retail countries including understanding of local financial regulations budgeting processes and program governance structures
- 5 years of large-scale consulting experience (at a renowned consulting firm) and/or working with a frontrunning digital financial institution in the areas of IT strategy Technology architecture IT governance or Operating model design
- 5 years of experience in budgeting financial analysis resource management and C-level reporting
- Proven experience in technology strategy development and execution
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organisational structures and build consensus
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards
- Experience in writing business cases (quantitative and qualitative) to support strategic business initiatives process improvement initiatives or IT transformations
Education
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science Business Administration)
- Advanced degree (MBA Masters) preferred
Competencies and Skills:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and lead the implementation of the technology strategy in alignment with the organizations overall business strategy. Collaborate with executive leadership to define long-term technology goals and objectives
- Technology Innovation: Stay up to date of industry trends emerging technologies and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation. Drive the evaluation and adoption of new technologies that can enhance business processes and create a competitive advantage
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with business units product teams and departments to understand their needs and align technology strategies accordingly. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions with business operations
- Risk Management: Assess potential risks associated with technology initiatives and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
- Communication: Effectively communicating high-level and detailed information and the ability to varying social style and audiences (stakeholders)
- Advanced presentation and public speaking skills (C-level)
- Have a high degree of accuracy
- Are able to work both independent and as a team member. You need to be able to manage your own work and set your own priorities.
- Have a stakeholder oriented approach
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn products and services to address the challenges of any business solution development team
