We are looking for consumerists with an affinity for product that enjoys the energy of moving at the pace of retail and the consumer. A successful Lead Buyer will thrive and contribute to a positive and progressive team dynamic as well as lead in a way that elevates the total team.
This role is responsible for adapting & curating consumer right assortments with end in mind for the Nike Factory Store business by using historical data analytics and real-time market feedback to advise the future (coming seasons) while winning today (in-season read & react/selling & serving)!
The candidate should possess proven retail competence and analytical abilities have an understanding of retail environments and bring a consumerist perspective to the team and business. They are comfortable mentoring the daily work of individual contributors within a structured coaching framework.
Bachelors degree in Merchandising or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education experience or training
A minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience
product creation and/or retail in a vertical multi-brand or digital environment
Strong affinity for current market trends and how Nike can continue to be a leader in the marketplace
Footwear Apparel Equipment or relevant consumer product buying and/or merchandising experience
Understanding of common retail profit-based metrics such as sell-through turn ASP UPT and others
Ability to contribute to and drive strategy into action
Ability to travel up to 20%
WHAT YOULL WORK ON
You will own bringing the seasonal assortment to life in Nike Factory Stores. You will understand related aspects of the business and marketplace in making your plans including coordinating between genders brands (Nike & Jordan) and how individual products or collections impact each other. You will collaborate cross functionally to ensure assortment plans meet consumer demand and strategies execute.
You will hone consumer-centric assortment plans across multiple seasons with an understanding of Nike Factory Stores position in the market & competitive landscape to blend fact-based and intuitive inputs. You will participate in seasonal buy reviews and in-season trading to influence actions to optimize growth with your critical partners.
