YOUR NEW ROLE
The Deputy Head of Staging is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Staging. They also act as the subject matter expert supporting the Event Operations department with short-to mid-term scoping and technical queries related to Staging.
The Deputy provides leadership in the delivery of technical services by assisting in the development of customer-focused systems and standards that support performers in achieving excellence. They support the Head of Staging in fostering a culture of continuous learning personal development and technical excellence. The Deputy also ensures compliance with relevant technical and WHS standards and contributes to the ongoing development of WHS awareness at the Sydney Opera House.

ARE YOU THE ONE
At least 2 years experience managing technical staff with proven ability to lead build teams and deliver events while upholding WHS and wellbeing responsibilities.
A minimum of 5 years experience across all aspects of staging operations including stage machinery systems and control rigging and the use of EWPs and other plant and ability to interpret create and modify technical drawings and design files.
Experience in staff rostering operational planning and working efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining long-term deliverables.
Excellent communication interpersonal analytical and decision-making skills with flexibility and a commitment to continuous improvement.
