The Charles V. Schaefer Jr. School of Engineering and Science (SES) at Stevens Institute of Technology (Stevens) invites applications for an Adjunct position for the Spring semester of 2026.
The AdjunctInstructorwillbe hired to teachENGR 122Field Sustainable Systems with Sensors.Each section ofthis EVENING coursemeetsonce a week for thefullSpringsemesterfor a total of 3hours per week.This courseis an introductory course for Engineering majors at Stevensandbuilds to theGallois Autonomous Robot Competitionhosted during the Stevens InnovationExpo.
As one of the first courses in the Stevens Design SpineENGR 122isfundamental to the CharlesV. Schaefer Jr. School of Engineering and Sciences commitment to instilling a sense ofengineering mastery interdisciplinarity project management teamwork and specific engineering skillsrequired ofthe modern engineerin itsengineeringgraduates.It alsounderscorestheir ability tocommunicate the technical aspects of a project properly and clearly. TheDesign Spineis aseries of courses that continue throughan Engineeringstudentssenior year.
This is a project-based class with heavy emphasis onvarious engineering disciplines such asCAD coding basic circuitry and technical writing.An excellent candidate is passionate aboutengineeringeducation andinterested in sharing that passion with others.A stellarapplicanthas receiveda degree inand has work experience in engineeringthough these are notrequirements.
This applicant is expected to work on-campus with studentsand TAs with certain tasks such as grading student work and providing feedback on student projects extending throughout the week.
This is a fixed-term assignment for the Spring 2026 semester at Stevens (starting on January 16 2026 and ending on May 15 2026). Engagement in subsequent academic terms will be considered on a case-by-case as-needed basis.
