In this varied and busy role youll support the Capability & Engagement team to help our kaimahi lead positively grow their strengths and thrive together. Youll also help ensure volunteering is meaningful and purposeful while supporting a range of DEI events and initiatives across the motu.
Key accountabilities include:
- Working closely with the Volunteer Sustainability Lead to drive initiatives that enhance meaningful volunteering in line with the Mahi Aroha Plan.
- Supporting the coordination of DEI events and initiatives in partnership with communities ensuring celebrations are community-led and inclusive.
- Managing the coordination of Capability & Engagement initiatives such as the coaching and mentoring programme to support leadership development and organisational capability.
- Providing high-quality administrative and coordination support to the wider team in partnership with the Capability Coordinator to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery.

Youre an organised and proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality support. You bring a genuine commitment to inclusion learning and collaboration and you value building respectful relationships across diverse communities.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven experience providing administrative or coordination support in a large complex organisation
- Confidence and empathy in working effectively with volunteers and diverse groups
- A keen interest in Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and community-led initiatives
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills with the ability to engage confidently across all levels
- Excellent time management organisation and attention to detail
- A proactive collaborative and solutions-focused approach and a willingness to learn and grow
