Are you keen to use your research skills to contribute to the foundation of threatened species and ecological community conservation in NSW

Our Threatened Species and Assessments team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer - Threatened Listing Assessment to join our Listings and Assessments team in the Threatened Species and Ecosystems Policy branch.

In this role you will provide high-level scientific and analytical expertise to support the listing of threatened ecological communities across NSW. As a key priority you will lead assessments of ecological community composition function and threats and assist the NSW Threatened Species Scientific Committee to make informed listing decisions under the Biodiversity Conservation Act. Your work may also involve assessing the threat status of species.

About You

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Extensive experience in supporting complex projects to achieve priority objectives
  • Experience in exercising judgement to form recommendations in line with statutory requirements
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ecological communities

  • Degree qualification in a relevant field
