Typical Work Schedule
Academic Year: Monday Thursday 8:00 a.m.5:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m.12:00 p.m.
Summer Hours: Monday Thursday 7:30 a.m.5:00 p.m. (Fridays off)
Note: Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for program events

Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: $50500 -$60770 commensurate with education and experience

Position Summary

  • Lead the design coordination and implementation of internship opportunities for students across STEM and interdisciplinary fields
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with regional employers community organizations and industry leaders to expand student placement opportunities.
  • Provide individualized career coaching resume development and interview preparation for students.
  • Monitor internship placements to ensure quality experiences and alignment with grant objectives.
  • Track analyze and report internship outcomes and metrics in compliance with NSF reporting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with faculty advisors and student support services to integrate career readiness into academic pathways.
  • Develop resources and host workshops on professional skills workplace expectations and employer engagement.
Key Responsibilities

  • Internship Program Development & Management
    • Design implement and manage internship opportunities that align with NSF EPIIC objectives.
    • Establish guidelines policies and procedures to ensure quality equitable and inclusive experiences for students.
    • Collaborate with faculty to integrate experiential learning into academic programs.
  • Employer & Community Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local regional and national employers to expand internship pipelines.
    • Coordinate employer outreach recruitment efforts and site visits.
    • Serve as a primary liaison between employers students and the college.
  • Student Support & Career Readiness
    • Provide one-on-one coaching to students on career readiness skills résumé building interviewing and workplace professionalism.
    • Match students with appropriate internship opportunities and monitor progress throughout their placements.
    • Develop workshops and resources to prepare students for career success.
  • Grant Compliance & Reporting
    • Track document and evaluate internship placements student participation and employer engagement in accordance with NSF reporting requirements.
    • Assist with data collection analysis and preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with all institutional state and federal guidelines tied to grant funding.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in education business human resources career services or related field.
  • Experience in program coordination student support services workforce development or employer relations.
  • Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders including students employers faculty and community partners.
  • Commitment to equity access and inclusive practices in career readiness.
Preferred:

  • Masters degree in higher education student affairs workforce development or related discipline.
  • Experience working with federal or NSF grant-funded programs.
  • Knowledge of best practices in internship coordination and experiential learning.
  • Familiarity with data tracking systems and grant reporting.
Working Conditions

  • Full-time 12-month grant-funded position (renewable based on continued NSF funding).
  • Requires occasional evening and weekend hours for student/employer events.
  • Local and regional travel to employer sites and community partners.
Compensation: $50500.00 - $60770.00 per year

Independence Community College (ICC)is a two-year educational institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It was established in 1925 as grades 13 and 14 of the Independencepublic school 1967 Independence Community College legally separated from the school district. Construction of the new community college on a 68 acre campus formerly the Independence Country Club began in 1969. Classes at the new site began in September 1970. ICC campus is now home to the Academic Building Fine Arts Building Student Union Cessna Learning Center Field House Administration BuildingWilliam Inge Center for the Artsfitness center athletic practice fields disc golf course 96-bed multi-structure living complex and a 200 bedresidence hall.

By renovating a donated building in 2010 we expanded our college to include ICC West (2615 West Main Street). This campus is located on the west side of Independence and is home to our technical programs: Allied Health Cosmetology and GED/ renovations were completed in 2012 to accomodate our newest program Veterinary Technology. This state-of-the-art facility includes animal wards a classroom lab surgery pharmacy prep roomsmall animal treatment food prep grooming and radiology.

ICC also maintains presence downtown through the ICC Foundation office and by partnering with the Independence Business Resource Center.

Currently our educational and support programming includes 35programs of studyfor Associates of Arts and/or Science degrees 11programs of study for Certificate completionStudent Support ServicesUpward Bound mens and womens athletic programs and a variety ofcampus organizations and activities.
