Job Summary
We are looking for a Statutory Accountant to join us on a Fixed Term Contract for a minimum of 12 months to cover Maternity. As Statutory Accountant you will be reporting to the Statutory Financial Controller where you will be delivering value and quality alongside our highly skilled Digital Finance team.
The role will involve working closely with all areas of the business both locally and internationally and will provide an excellent opportunity for exposure to the entire Group.
You will be responsible for the delivery of all statutory and regulatory filings such as Annual Accounts for the Digital Division.
Key responsibilities include:
- Month-end account to report processes for various operational and non-operational Digital companies
- Preparation and journaling of the intercompany management recharges on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Preparation of timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations in relation to the entities being accounted for at month-end
- Production & sign-off of the statutory accounts for the Digital legal entities
- Assist the statutory financial controller in preparing the consolidated financial reports of specific subgroups.
- Point of contact for external audit from both a group and statutory point of view fielding queries providing information and supporting documentation where required
- Liaison with the Group Tax team to ensure all required tax and fiduciary filings are submitted accurately and on-time
- Liaison with Co Sec & legal for the completion of the liquidation of the outstanding list of Digital entities needing completion
- Support in reviewing dividend distributions and raising tax refund claims
- Prepare ad hoc reports and investigations at the request of stakeholders providing financial support to senior management
- Ensuring that all queries from internal stakeholders are dealt with effectively and promptly
- Encourages communication and collaboration across the business team and stakeholders in order to build strong relationships and develop cross functional working
Qualifications :
Qualifications and Education
- Qualified accountant MA Accountancy ACCA ACA CIMA or equivalent
- Significant experience in the preparation of statutory accounts across a number of different jurisdictions
- Experience in the preparation of consolidated financial statements would be an asset
Specialist Skills and Experience
- Good technical skills - knowledge of IFRS desirable
- Advanced Excel skills
- Written communications skills
- Experience of budgeting planning and forecasting processes
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with and develop good working relationships with staff at all levels
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Well organized with ability to deal with high volume of work and ability to work well to deadlines
- Able to work independently efficiently and accurately in time sensitive environment.
