What are we looking for
Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) with experience in Orthopaedics to join our team.
This is a Monday-Friday role with the following shift patterns:
0900-1700 onsite
Flexibility is required for this role with some shifts starting as early as 07:00 and others finishing as late as 18:00 depending on clinics.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a highly visible role model to all the nurses within the team and provides clinical expertise addresses patients health concerns and works to promote their health and wellbeing. Using their skills and expertise within their specialty the CNS provides physical and emotional support to their patients coordinates their care services and informs and advises them on clinical and practical issues associated with their condition.

What will your duties include
An experienced orthopaedic Senior Nurse/CNS required to support peri-operative care for a busy and leading consultant knee surgeon and working alongside another CNS.
The role will include pre- assessment optimisation - answering patient queries pre-operative patient education counselling and pre-assessment medical optimisation. Problem solving liaising with other multi-disciplinary specialists intra-operatively
Facilitate the development and implementation of protocols for post-operative care and use clinical judgement when deviation from protocols is indicated.
Act as a key worker for a clinical caseload throughout the patient journey working to coordinate care and provide easy access for ongoing support for patients and caregivers.
Provides clinical expertise specialist advice and support across service boundaries.
What we need from you
Bachelors Degree in Nursing required.
Post graduate qualification within speciality required.
Recognised mentoring qualification required.
Experienced senior orthopaedic nurse is essential.
Nursing registration (First Level) through the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) required.
Substantial experience working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist experience with demonstrable clinical expertise within the speciality. Desirable
