About the area

The Western Australian Centre for Road Safety Research was established in 2019 as a joint initiative of UWA and the WA Government Road Safety Commission to innovate and conduct strategic research to advance road safety in WA. Our vision is to see the elimination of the predictable and preventable crash fatalities and serious injuries occurring on our roads. Our research spans all pillars of the safe road system: safe roads and roadsides safe vehicles safe speeds safe road users and post-crash safety.

About the opportunity

  • The Western Australian Centre for Road Safety Research (WACRSR) conducts strategic research across all pillars of road safety aiming to eliminate preventable road fatalities and injuries.
  • The role involves contributing to priority road safety projects producing high-impact research and meeting teaching and service KPIs at UWA.
  • Responsibilities include research collaboration publication supervision of students securing funding and active engagement within and beyond the university.

About you

  • PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline.
  • A demonstrable track record in excellence in research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in high quality journals relative to opportunity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices to extend equality of opportunity for all learners.
  • Demonstrable experience of participation in education/research leadership in public engagements that promote research and/or education outcome government and industry.
  • Ability in managing and manipulating complex data sets including data quality validation merging missing variable analysis and imputation.
