About this opportunity:

Cenovus is seeking a Commercial Staff Planner for our Toledo refinery. This individual serves as a strategic leader in maximizing the Toledo Refinerys commercial performance. This role integrates operational technical and commercial insights to drive optimal refinery planning and margin delivery. Acting as the key interface between Refinery Operations Optimization Supply and the broader HSMC organization the incumbent leads the development and execution of LP-based campaign strategies identifies value optimization opportunities and influences decisions across multiple functions to enhance profitability reliability and commercial agility.

What youll do:

  • Lead in the development and communication of LP-based refinery campaign plan to ensure maximum gross margin delivery.

  • Collaborate across commercial operations and engineering teams to provide direction and influence decisions that optimize refinery throughput margins and supply reliability.

  • Coordinate with the crude and product supply coordinators in the downstream commercial team to evaluate and prioritize trading opportunities.

  • Maximizes refinery income against safe operating limits by optimizing the feed slate product slate feed rates operating unit throughputs cut points and other operating unit variables.

  • Identify and implement improvements to planning processes LP models and refinery operations to maximize efficiency and margin.

  • Lead and mentor Scheduling team by driving alignment and standing firm on decisions that protect refinery and commercial value. Provide backup coverage for these roles as necessary to ensure business continuity.

Who you are:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US

  • College degree required; Chemical Engineering degree ideal.

  • 12 years of experience in oil and gas or chemical manufacturing facilities in both technical and commercial settings.
