Intertek is searching for a Team Leader for the EMC Engineering team to join our Electrical and Wireless team in our LexingtonKY office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career facilitating international trade andregulatory product testing in Engineering Management!

What are we looking for

The Team Lead for the EMC Engineering team position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Engineers and Technicians including assigning and overseeing work; training coaching and mentoring staff; managing employee issues; interviewing; hiring and firing recommendations; approving time and expense; conducting performance reviews; employee development and performance management; ensuring the customers needs are fulfilled; ensuring compliance with Interteks Quality Management System and all other policies and procedures. This position is expected to be on-site and is not eligible for remote work.

What youll be doing:

  • Responsible for the hiring training development and performance management of Team members
  • Drive daily projects to ensure team members are meeting deadlines and following safety/quality protocols
  • Interface with clients to discuss current and upcoming projects
  • Partner with Sales team members in the preparation of quotes in a timely manner
  • Responsible for efficiency and productivity within assigned area
  • Responsible for ensuring invoicing is submitted timely; assist with P&L oversight including forecasting managing costs etc.
  • Partner with Sales and the Project Management Team to resolve non-conformance issues
  • Supervise all quality requirements equipment calibration safety rules and lab cleanliness standards
  • Promote new business opportunities and innovations
  • Oversees the performance ofstandardized tests analysis oftest data and performance ofroutine calculations and resolves issues in a timely manner
  • Communicate schedules and forecasts to management to achieve revenue targets
  • Perform testing and evaluation on a variety of products to the provisions of U.S. Canadian and other international product safety standards; writing reports; and communicating with clients
  • Perform other work as required.
  • Assist Engineering Manager and Operations Manager with duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in either Electrical Engineering Physics or other related area
  • 4 years working in an adjacent field industry or position
  • Experience in leading a team either formally or informally
  • Project management experience or training
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
  • Must be client focused and quality driven
  • Must be able to confront and resolve conflict in an effective manner
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictates at least 25% of the time
  • Valid drivers license and reliable driving record
  • Applicants will be required to complete an I-9 to verify their eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical dexterity to perform the clerical and technical functions which are inherent to the position.
  • Physical dexterity to operate equipment and perform other functions necessary to effectively and efficiently perform the duties of the job. This may include bending/stooping turning/twisting reaching balancing and mobility to travel to other work sites.

Preferred Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 4 years directly related experience
  • 2 years of leadership experience
