Position Summary

The Data Analytics Analyst is responsible for data workflows and business insights supporting academic programs at University College. Reporting to the Director of Academic Data and Quality this position coordinates multiple data processes that are central to the effective management and growth of academic programs including: managing instructor and course information setting up and continuously improving operations approval workflows enabling a data-informed scheduling process tracking hiring data and other types of data processes. The Data Reporting Specialist works closely with the Director of Academic Data and Quality Academic Directors and enrollment teams to provide data build and manage dashboards and increase adoption of existing data tools. University College seeks a team member who is conscientious driven and highly detail-oriented and who can connect the daily tasks of this job with the larger mission of University College.

Essential Functions

Operations Data Management and Analysis

  • Build and manage operations workflows data systems and data visualizations to ensure effective operation of programs and efficient processes within the Academic Operations Team.
  • Operationalize migration of operations data into SharePoint and MS Power platform in close collaboration with Director of Academic Quality and Data.
  • Maintain and continuously improve data dashboards and assist Academic Directors and other stakeholders in accessing them.
  • Run daily data troubleshoot code and continuously improve processes to ensure availability and accuracy of reports.

Business Insights

  • Provide data insights for leadership and Academic Directors to support reporting needs and program initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Academic Directors and other stakeholders in data processes to ensure achievement of organizational goals and program enrollment objectives.
  • Work closely with Academic Directors Enrollment Management and Learning and Design Teams to enable data-informed decision-making.
  • Lead ongoing and new initiatives to streamline operations workflows and program support.

Collaboration and Promotion of Data-Driven Culture

  • Promote a data-driven culture and build relationships with other teams across the organization to explore ways to increase effectiveness.
  • Foster inclusivity and engage in positive productive professional and interpersonal relationships throughout the University of Denver.
  • Participate in and contribute to appropriate teams committees activities and events.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to proactively identify solutions to data queries or issues
  • High level of data literacy and proven ability to accurately maintain and manipulate data sets
  • Demonstrated experience with data management (Stata Excel or similar) and visualization (Tableau or similar) tools
  • Ability to effectively present data and information in responding to questions from various types of stakeholders
  • Ability to work with diverse groups in planning out operations workflows that involve multiple teams across the organization
  • Demonstrated mastery of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated knowledge of University College academic programs
  • Ability to formally and informally communicate with individuals at multiple levels of an organization
  • Ability to prioritize multitask and manage time within an unstructured schedule with minimal oversight from management

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Two years of proven experience with data analysis and management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel
  • Bachelors degree and 1-2 years relevant professional experience
  • Experience with Freshdesk or other service/project management tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data analytics tools (Stata SAS or R)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (like Tableau)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform
  • Knowledge of opportunities and challenges in program management in higher education
  • Bachelors degree and 2-5 years relevant professional experience
  • Project management experience

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number

The salary grade for the position is 10.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $60000-$70000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
