Schedules patient appointments using computerized scheduling systems ensuring that all appointments are accurately entered and appropriately timed. Reviews clinical indications and verifies that all required information meets departmental and regulatory guidelines.
Communicates with physicians nurses and other clinical team members to confirm patient readiness availability of facilities and staff and completion of preauthorization requirements at the time of scheduling.
Contacts patients and families as appropriate to provide pre-procedure instructions confirm appointment details and answer scheduling-related questions.
Maintains a professional and supportive approach to ensure each patients experience is positive and well-coordinated.
