The Opportunity
We are currently hiring for a Water Quality Process Specialist. This term opportunity in the Environment Health & Safety Department has full time hours and is for a period of up to 8 months.
What the Water Quality Team does:
- Works of a variety of support monitoring and research programs ranging from source to tap.
- Manages Halifax Waters Lead Service Line Replacement Program.
- Has a goal to ensure high quality water from both public health and aesthetic perspectives ins delivered to Halifax Waters customers.
As a Water Quality Process Specialist you will:
- Provide technical support and monitoring for water quality in process control plant and distribution operations through research problem solving studies and analysis.
- Provide recommendations to the Manager of Water Quality.
- Work closely with treatment plant supervisors to support treatment plant operations.
To do this job you need to have:
- An undergraduate Science or Engineering degree along with five years of related experience in water/wastewater treatment process optimization drinking water pilot plant operations and/or water quality research; or
- A technical diploma in Engineering Sciences or Water Resources along with seven or more years of experience in drinking water treatment process optimization and drinking water quality research.
