Responsible for the quality and effectiveness of the Endoscopy Unit equipment. Provides technical assistance during procedures under direction of the Functions Gathers appropriate instrumentation supplies and equipment for procedure per gastroenterologist -up cases in procedure rooms per knowledge of procedure and anticipates the gastroenterologists needs throughout the specimens correctly and breakdown of cases post-procedure and manually cleans scope per contaminated instrumentation for decontamination process by properly transferring and cleansing them per Endoscopy policy at the end of each terminal end sterilization/high level disinfection of endoscopic equipment per quality assurance testing of scope washers per scope washers quality assurance log per scope washer endoscopic equipment including in the turnover of the procedure room to include washing of beds overhead lights and removal of linen and cleaning and restocking Endoscopy Unit procedure basic procedural cart set-up at end of with transport of equipment and set-up of cases performed outside of the Endoscopy and orders general inventory stock restocks rooms and supply with other health care Charge Nurse with data such as malfunctioning of equipment scope repair needs and material management needs that affect the daily running of the Endoscopy appropriate in-service and continuing education programs commensurate with the job in regular on call rotation within the Endoscopy Unit as certified in BLS in unit/hospital projects that seek to improve patient as a resource for others regarding and supports patients rights to care privacy and duties as assigned from time to timeEducation:High school diploma or equivalent of an accredited surgical technology program strongly processing training course strongly preferred.
