Job Summary for Radiologic Technologist (List Format):
- Perform high-quality radiologic procedures (X-ray Fluoroscopy C-arm operating room work) for diagnostic interpretation.
- Ensure patient safety and practice radiation safety protocols adhering to ALARA standards.
- Provide patient education and quality patient care throughout the imaging process.
- Obtain and document patient medical history and informed consent as required.
- Operate imaging equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and department protocols.
- Perform quality control (QC) checks and routine maintenance on imaging equipment.
- Verify exam orders patient identification (using two identifiers) and exam education prior to procedures.
- Submit all required documentation orders and imaging forms to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain and order inventory of supplies for the imaging department.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service or repairs as needed.
- Assist with clerical duties patient transportation telephone calls and message recording as necessary.
- Support and train/cross-train imaging staff as directed.
- Adapt to schedule changes fill in for emergencies and work overtime holidays or on-call shifts as required.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory departmental hospital state and federal requirements.
- Uphold patient confidentiality infection control safety and risk management policies.
- Demonstrate professionalism positive teamwork effective communication and uphold organizational values.
- Participate in ongoing education training and quality improvement initiatives.
- May be required to cross-train in other imaging modalities (CT MRI DEXA Mammography) within licensure scope.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) required.
- Current BLS certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist preferred.
- Effective communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to operate electronic records systems (PACS RIS/HIS).
- Must meet legal background check drug screen and health requirements.
