Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor & Delivery (L&D) team. The RN will provide comprehensive family-centered care to patients throughout the labor delivery and postpartum process. This role requires a nurse who is confident in managing both routine and high-risk obstetric situations possesses strong technical skills in IV insertion and conscious sedation and can perform effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities
Provide safe and effective care to women during all phases of labor delivery and immediate postpartum recovery.
Monitor maternal and fetal status interpret EFM (electronic fetal monitoring) tracings and promptly report abnormalities.
Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal deliveries cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
Administer medications including oxytocin epidural anesthesia support and sedatives per hospital protocols.
Perform IV insertions phlebotomy and manage conscious sedation in accordance with safety standards.
Support patients and families through the labor process with emotional physical and educational care.
Collaborate closely with obstetricians anesthesiologists neonatologists and other members of the healthcare team.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities in compliance with hospital policy.
Adhere to infection control safety and confidentiality policies at all times.

Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of Maternal and Child Health experience required.
Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience required.
Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience required.
Strong clinical judgment excellent communication and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams in a high-acuity environment.

Required Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Required Certifications & Licensure
Active New York State (NYS) RN License in good standing.
Primary Source Verification of RN license and registration through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED).
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
