Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) provides skilled nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This role involves patient assessment medication administration cardiac monitoring and emergency response. The RN will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality care to adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments and triage in the ED.
- Administer medications including continuous IV sedation emergency medications and IV vasopressors.
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias.
- Manage patients with multi-system organ dysfunction/failure.
- Obtain 12-lead EKGs.
- Perform blood product administration and central line care/management.
- Start IVs and perform phlebotomy.
- Provide care for patients experiencing CVA abdominal pain asthma infections seizures and mental/behavioral health conditions.
- Manage patients with chest tubes and ventilated patients.
- Implement isolation precautions.
- Manage violent suicidal and overdose patients.
- Document patient care in Cerner.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
- ACLS BLS and PALS certifications.
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
- Proficiency in IV therapy and phlebotomy.
- Experience with medication administration including continuous IV sedation emergency medications and IV vasopressors.
- Experience with neurological pediatric psychiatric and respiratory cases.
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and triage.
- Cerner experience.
- Community Hospital Experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- TNCC certification.
Special Considerations:
- Will work every other weekend.
- May float within scope to meet facility needs.
- General Emergency Department-Combined Adult/Pedi experience required.
- Discuss time off requests with manager.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours. If Client cancels more hours than permitted by this section Client will be billed for any shifts or portions thereof cancelled in excess of this section. If Candidates are placed on-call in lieu of being called off that will count as a called-off shift.

- 3x12 hour night shifts (1745-0615).
