Job Summary

Role: Business Consulting-Automation Consultant

Work location : Halifax NS (Hybrid)

Type: Contract

Role Responsibilities:

Setup framework and prepare automation suite test strategy to produce maximum results in minimum time
Convert manual written test cases into Automation Scripts maintain the automation test cases and execute
Ensure high performance especially timely preparation conducting and completion of testing processes
Ensure regular and timely reporting on the given tasks to Test Leads and Managers
Ensure and maintain a high quality and effective support to all Internal and External Clients and Partners
Perform other duties as requested by supervisor and back up team members when necessary introduce test automation in manual projects from scratch which includes choosing test automation tool through proof of concept(POC) tool training to team test framework creation automation issues resolution regression suite creation.

Required Skills:

Broad experience of automated and manual testing types including; Unit Functional Non-Functional Regression Exploratory User Acceptance Testing Ad-hoc and Compatibility
Hands on experience with CI/CD automation servers preferably Jenkins
Solid and demonstrable experience of BDD TDD and ATDD
Knowledge of software design patterns - Singleton Builder Page Object Model
Broad experience of working on and testing applications running on different operating systems
Practical experience of Test automation on a broad range of Mobile Devices and simulators
Performance Testing experience using JMeter or similar tools
Good understanding of UI testing on market leading browsers: Chrome Safari IE FireFox Opera
Hands on experience of API testing within a microservices architecture
Experience in writing and delivering test plans test cases and regression packs to enable defect detection and solution validation
Previous exposure to collaboration tools such as Jira for test and issue/bug management
Ability to collaborate with developers - pair programming and reviewing unit tests
Test automation experience of REST and SOAP based web services
Use of automation for Test Data creation and having a good understanding of why this is needed
Working knowledge of build tools preferably Gradle
Competent with source control management tools such as GitLab GitHub Nexus
Banking experience is must

Desirable skills:

Experience working on banking or payment systems
ISTQB Foundation-level test certification or any relevant industry software certification
Prior onshore/offshore working experience.
