Position Title - Assembler I
Duration - 6 months (Possibility to Convert to FTE)
Schedule - 2nd shift position 3pm-1am Monday-Thursday
Location - Holland Michigan 49424
Overview:
- Performs repetitive mechanical assembly involving sensitive or precise dexterous movements to maintain pace and quality of assembly work.
Responsibilities:
- Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
- Successfully completes all site-specific training regarding safety and quality.
- Receives components or items for assembly and/or test in programmed sequence.
- Assembles and/or tests mechanical or electrical components by means of sensitive hand and equipment coordination.
- May assemble minor variations of in-house standard products.
- Follows clear assembly/test instructions.
- Uses simple hand or power tools along with uncomplicated jigs and fixtures.
- Enter work hours in ERP system (Currently SAP) if applicable to site.
- Completes required documentation related to production.
- Drives continuous improvement process and conducts daily housekeeping/5S audits to ensure continuous improvement activities.
- Reads and understands simple layout and assembly drawings.
- Maintains equipment and area in clean safe condition.
- Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.
Requirements:
- Mechanical aptitude as evidenced by work experience high school/tech school coursework hobbies etc.
- Must be able to sit stand hear and see on a constant basis.
- Must be able to walk write and type on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
- Must be able to bend carry reach push and pull on an occasional basis. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
- Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
- May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
- May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
- Work surfaces may include concrete.
- Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone. 1-3 years experience.
