Details:

AS400 Admin

Location: Mebane NC (5 Days Onsite)

Duration: 6-12 months

Key Responsibilities:

Install configure maintain and troubleshoot IBM i (AS/400) hardware and operating systems.
Monitor system performance run system diagnostics and perform routine maintenance.
Manage user profiles authority levels job queues output queues and device configurations.
Perform backups and recoveries using BRMS or other backup tools.
Apply PTFs and software upgrades with minimal disruption to business operations.
Schedule and monitor batch jobs resolve job failures and optimize job performance.
Provide system support for application teams and end users.
Maintain security and compliance through system auditing and role-based access control.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
3 7 years of experience administering AS400 / IBM i environments.
Strong knowledge of IBM i operating system CL programming and DB2/400.
Experience with BRMS HMC and Power Systems hardware.
Familiarity with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) tools.
