AS400 Admin
Location: Mebane NC (5 Days Onsite)
Duration: 6-12 months
Key Responsibilities:
- Install configure maintain and troubleshoot IBM i (AS/400) hardware and operating systems.
- Monitor system performance run system diagnostics and perform routine maintenance.
- Manage user profiles authority levels job queues output queues and device configurations.
- Perform backups and recoveries using BRMS or other backup tools.
- Apply PTFs and software upgrades with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Schedule and monitor batch jobs resolve job failures and optimize job performance.
- Provide system support for application teams and end users.
- Maintain security and compliance through system auditing and role-based access control.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 7 years of experience administering AS400 / IBM i environments.
- Strong knowledge of IBM i operating system CL programming and DB2/400.
- Experience with BRMS HMC and Power Systems hardware.
- Familiarity with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) tools.
