Job Title : Network Support Technician

Location : Abilene TX Onsite

Duration : 12 month contract

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Network Support Technician to assist in the development installation and maintenance of internal and external network communications systems. This on-site position plays a critical role in ensuring the operational integrity of our network infrastructure on a 24/7/365 basis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in data center environments structured cabling and network troubleshooting and will thrive in a fast-paced shift-based operational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design deployment and support of LAN/WAN and data center network systems
• Install and maintain internal and external network communications hardware and cabling
• Test and evaluate network systems to identify and resolve issues and improve performance
• Support data center infrastructure projects from planning through implementation
• Follow standard operating procedures and documentation practices
• Perform a variety of technical tasks with general supervision using sound judgment and creativity
• Rotate through day and night shifts including weekends and holidays as part of a 24/7 operations team
• Travel occasionally to support business or project needs

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science Network Engineering Information Technology)
• 2 5 years of experience in network support or a related technical field
• 5 years of experience with structured cabling (copper/fiber) including testing and certification
• Working knowledge of data center networking and infrastructure
• Familiarity with standard concepts practices and procedures in networking
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong troubleshooting documentation and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Industry certifications (e.g. CCNA Network BICSI)
• Experience with network monitoring tools and cable testing equipment
• Understanding of data center operations and cabling standards
