Position Overview
The Counselling Intern supports the daily operations of the Counselling Centre by assisting counsellors with administrative communication and coordination tasks. This role provides an opportunity to gain insight into the functioning of a school-based counselling service within an international educational setting while developing professional skills in organization documentation and intercultural communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support
- Assist in preparing editing and translating counselling documents forms and communication materials (English / French / languages).
- Maintain and update the counselling calendar including appointments workshops and student meetings.
- Support the scheduling of intake screening.
- Prepare presentation slides reports and visual materials for workshops assemblies and meetings.
- Data entry and confidential record-keeping in compliance with the schools data protection and confidentiality policies.
- Support the organization of wellbeing programs awareness campaigns and counselling-related events.
Operational & Communication Support
- Serve as a point of contact for routine enquiries and help coordinate communication between counsellors teachers and parents.
- Support when needed in compiling student lists evaluation feedback and documentation for workshops or group sessions.
- Help with research resources or materials relevant to counselling and wellbeing topics.
- Learning & Professional Development.
- Observe counselling centre operations to understand case management processes confidentiality protocols and the role of counselling in a school context.
- Attend supervision or reflection meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions with students staff and families.
Qualifications and Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Counselling Psychology Education or a related field.
- Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English; bilingual proficiency (e.g. EnglishFrench) preferred.
- Good computer literacy (Google Workspace / Microsoft Office / Canva or similar tools).
- Detail-oriented reliable and able to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Interest in school counselling student wellbeing and cross-cultural environments.
Internship Details:
Duration: 3 - 9 months
Mode: On-site at campus 3000
