Role Overview:
As a C&I Engineer within Zeecos Global Burner Systems division you will play a key role in the design configuration and implementation of control and instrumentation systems for industrial burners used in fired heaters boilers HRSGs and WHRB applications.
This position involves working on complex FEED and Detailed Engineering projects collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams across global offices and engaging directly with advanced combustion control systems. Your expertise in PLC programming control narratives hazardous area instrumentation burner management and safety systems will ensure safe compliant and reliable operation of combustion equipment across major global installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on design and detailed engineering of industrial burners including oil gas combination duct burners and radiant wall burners.
- Apply strong understanding of boiler operations and associated equipment for WHRB HRSG and fired heater systems.
- Collaborate with Process Mechanical Electrical and global engineering teams to integrate C&I systems with complete plant operations.
- Prepare engineering documentation including Instrument Index specifications datasheets loop diagrams logic diagrams wiring diagrams hook-up drawings cable schedules JB/Panel drawings and IOM manuals.
- Develop P&IDs Cause & Effect Diagrams and detailed control narratives for burner management and combustion control systems.
- Perform sizing and selection of Ex-proof and Intrinsically Safe instruments suitable for hazardous areas.
- Participate in KOM FAT 3D Model Reviews HAZOP HAZID SIL studies and design review meetings with clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with international design codes and standards such as API NFPA ISA IEC and other statutory requirements.
- Prepare specifications and datasheets for field instruments including control valves pressure regulators transmitters analyzers shutoff valves dampers flame scanners and CEMS systems.
- Lead the C&I engineering scope for projects including scheduling progress monitoring and resource coordination.
- Coordinate multi-office project execution with Zeecos global engineering teams across various time zones.
- Work with vendors for technical clarifications procurement support and review/approval of vendor engineering documents.
- Conduct and review FAT/SAT for PLC systems control panels and instrumentation packages.
- Support commissioning teams during loop checking tuning system integration and burner start-up activities.
- Assist in Performance Guarantee Test Runs (PGTR) to validate contractual and performance requirements.
- Provide technical guidance mentoring and training to junior engineers and project team members.
- Troubleshoot complex combustion control and instrumentation issues and provide subject matter expertise.
- Participate in virtual meetings across global time zones for engineering coordination and project reviews.
- Travel as needed for site visits FATs client meetings technical reviews and start-up assistance.
Required Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Instrumentation
- 510 years of industry experience
- Background in Oil & Gas Petrochemicals Refineries Fired Heaters Boilers or Process Equipment (preferred)
- Strong exposure to international codes & standards (API NFPA IEC ISA ATEX etc.)
- Hands-on experience with global project execution in multi-office environments
