We are looking for a Geotechnical or Tunnel Engineer to join our team based in Prague Czech Republic. You will work on infrastructure projects across the globe. Although most of our current projects are based in North America we also want to strengthen our position in the local market.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Carry out geotechnical soilstructure interaction and dynamic analyses using advanced finite element and tunnel design software such as PLAXIS Sofistik Ensoft and GeoStudio software packages.
  • Prepare and validate design deliverables including detailed calculations drawings specifications and project documentation (technical memos and reports).
  • Interface frequently with technical leads project directors managers the design team and the BIM/CADD team.
  • Design and analyse tunnels and shafts as well as temporary and permanent retaining structures deep and shallow foundations and earthworks.
  • Identify geotechnical risks and propose appropriate mitigation methods.
  • Characterise and classify ground conditions.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • M.S. ( the Czech Republic) or higher degree in Geotechnical Engineering;
  • At least 5 years of experience working as a geotechnical engineer in the design of geotechnical structures;
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of geotechnical and civil engineering fundamentals;
  • Proficiency in finite element software such as PLAXIS;
  • Ability to interface effectively with other technical disciplines especially structural engineering;
  • Experience in soilstructure interaction and in preparing and checking engineering designs and calculations;
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken.

Preferred skills and qualifications (not required):

  • Chartered Engineer professional qualification in Czechia or a US Professional Engineer (PE) licence.
  • Experience using geotechnical software packages from Ensoft GeoStudio and Rocscience.
  • Fluency in Czech.
