Job Summary

Oaks Port Douglas Resort are looking for a casual Chef de Partie to join their experienced team. 

Youll play a key role in the daily operations of the kitchen ensuring the highest standards of food quality presentation and hygiene are consistently maintained.

  • Assist in preparing and cooking meals to the highest standard following recipes and maintaining consistency.
  • Collaborate with and support fellow kitchen team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Take pride in plating and presenting beautifully crafted dishes ensuring they are served to brand standards.
  • Assist the Chef in Charge with preparing back-of-house rosters.
  • Oversee stock control and ensure the safe and proper storage of food and kitchen supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas including equipment and storage.
  • Contribute to the development of exciting new menu items in partnership with the Head Chef.

Shift Details (subject to change):

  • Breakfast lunch and Dinner shifts available
  • Rotating roster from Monday through to Sunday
  • Split shifts required on some days 

Hourly Rates (excluding super): 

  • Monday - Friday: $35.15 per hour
  • Saturday: $42.18 per hour
  • Sunday: $49.21 per hour

Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Certificate III in Cookery qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A positive proactive attitude and a genuine passion for cooking.
  • Flexibility to work across all service periods as per the roster: breakfast lunch and dinner.
