Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and Design: Architect a comprehensive developer-centric toolkit to abstract cryptographic complexity from product teams enabling seamless transitions between algorithms.
- Establish Standards: Evaluate select and vet cryptographic libraries for enterprise-wide standardization creating a curated set of golden components for developers.
- Build Reusable Patterns: Develop reusable code patterns API wrappers and reference implementations for our core programming languages (e.g. Java Python Go C#).
- Provide Authoritative Guidance: Serve as the organizations foremost expert on crypto-agility providing architectural consultation and design reviews for critical development projects.
- Champion PQC Readiness: Lead the technical research and architectural strategy for our transition to Post-Quantum Cryptography transforming complex requirements into a practical multi-year engineering roadmap.
- Collaborate and Influence: Work with the PQC Working Group security teams and executive leadership to align the technical roadmap with business objectives and risk posture.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in software development and architecture with a proven record of leading large-scale enterprise-wide technical initiatives.
- Expert-level proficiency in multiple modern programming languages and distributed systems design.
- Deep authoritative knowledge of applied cryptography including PKI TLS key exchange digital signatures and certificate lifecycle management.
- Experience designing and building platform-level tools libraries or frameworks that have been successfully adopted by other engineering teams.
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering and leadership audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A strong interest in and foundational understanding of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) concepts and the ongoing NIST standardization process.
- Experience contributing to open-source cryptographic libraries or security-focused projects.
- Familiarity with hardware security modules (HSMs) and key management systems (KMS).
