Nova Scotia is rich in natural resources - including biodiversity forests geological resources provincial parks and the land we manage. The Department of Natural Resources is responsible for the development management conservation regulation and protection of forests geoscience mines minerals parks and wildlife resources and the administration of the Provinces Crown land. Together we are working with Nova Scotians to build a better future through sustainable natural resource management as we all benefit from the natural health and wealth of the province.
As the Director you will be responsible to lead and oversee through a team of program and administrative professionals effective program corporate client service delivery.As part of the Policy and Corporate Services Branch the Corporate Services Management Division the Director and team provide services to both the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Energy.
In this role your primary accountabilities will include:
As the successful candidate you will have a post-secondary degree in a related discipline (such as Commerce Public Administration and/or Business) with several years of progressive related management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. You will have demonstrated experience in human resource financial and project management as well as the ability to lead diverse and remote teams to achieve success.
You possess exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships. You are a collaborative individual with demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills and possess the ability to effect positive change in a dynamic environment. You encourage new ideas offer innovative solutions and utilize technologies that enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of your work.
You have experience in a leadership role employing strategic solutions and designing risk management strategies to meet project outcomes. You have direct experience leading an OHS program and OHS team. You have a broad understanding of information management information systems and technology innovations and are comfortable with presenting and delivering specialized information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Leadership competencies required at this level of work are: Decisiveness Strategic Orientation Developing Others Team Leadership Self-Awareness and Personal Impact Effective Interactive Communication Partnering and Relationship Building and Intercultural and Diversity Proficiency.

Salary Range: $4136.98- $5171.21Bi-Weekly
