Job Summary
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma of GED
- One (1) year of experience in building maintenance or related
- Valid Florida Drivers License
- Must have own transportation to report to other college locations as assigned
- Must be able to be forklift certified within one year of employment
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs preventative maintenance and repair on buildings which includes but is not limited to painting maintaining roofs windows drywall brick tile and concrete surfaces.
- Assists with minor renovation of classrooms labs and offices including installing studs and walls and repairing drywall. Builds concrete forms. Installs doors locks hinges panic device hardware. Installs paper towel and soap dispensers. Installs and/or replaces ceiling tile and grid systems.
- Works well with the entire Facilities team. Assists other teams and teammates as directed.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Requires medium to heavy work that involves walking standing stooping lifting pushing or raising objects exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force on a recurring basis.
- Must be able to use machines hand tools or equipment such as trenchers tractors light trucks light equipment mowers forklift or power saws.
- Must be able to work various shifts and locations as assigned based on the needs of the College.
- Must have strong organizational skills as well as effective oral and written communication.
- Must have computer knowledge to be able to perform job related tasks clock in/out and view personnel related information (i.e. paycheck W-2 etc.)
