Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician operates within a production / technical department with a focus on execution of preventive and corrective maintenance. The main purpose of the job of a Maintenance Technician is to prevent any malfunction of the equipment apparatus machinery or systems that are used in the production process.
The Maintenance Technician may also support other facilities than production such as R&D laboratories office facilities as well as technical buildings (utilities) and systems for logistics and storage. The job takes care of any trouble shooting in order to keep to production process running and carries out tasks to prevent future disturbances.
The job may be limited to one single technical discipline (such as construction mechanical rotating electrical) or may be more skilled so that apart from one major technical discipline the Maintenance Technician is able to deal with issues in related technical areas. Depending on the size of the facility the number of Maintenance Technicians may vary in technical disciplines and expertise levels.
At the highest job level the all round Maintenance Technician is capable of dealing with any of the issues that might occur troubleshooting and solving technical issues in an expert role.

Role Description
As a Maintenance Technician at Trouw Nutrition you will play a key role in ensuring the optimal functioning of our production and facility equipment. You will be responsible for executing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and/or electrical installations including production machinery transport systems and utilities. Your work will directly support the continuity and efficiency of our production processes contributing to our mission of Feeding the Future.
About the Role
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on a wide range of equipment including grinding mixing pressing lines and weighbridges.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Execute modifications and improvements to equipment and systems contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills and Expertise
- Proven experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance within a production or technical environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to assess and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and maintenance management systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and perform tasks such as welding machining and component fabrication.
- Commitment to safety standards and procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LoTo) and work permits.
Expectation from Role
- Ensure timely and safe execution of maintenance tasks to support uninterrupted production.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external technicians during complex maintenance or shutdowns.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of equipment reliability.
