We are currently accepting applications for a Technician (Mechanical) to join our team in Redfern NSW. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a wide array of unique mechanical fabrication related projects collaborating with fellow peers engineers project managers and clients. This role requires a highly adaptable and detail-oriented individual who possesses a strong mechanical trade.
TheFitter Machinist/CNC Operatorwill be accountable for:
- Performing a high-level manual machining and CNC milling
- Periodic maintenance of fixed plant equipment and tooling
- General fabrication tasks i.e. aluminium and stainless steel TIG welding
- Reading and understanding engineering fabrication and assembly drawings
- Accurate managment and configuration of designs including working to the correct Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Safely and competently operating equipment and promoting a safety driven culture
- Supporting a high-performance work culture promoting teamwork accountability and continuous improvement
As a suitably experienced and well- rounded Fitter Machinist/CNC Operator you will have:
- Mechanical Engineering Trade Cert III - Fitting and Machining/Toolmaking (essential)
- Mechanical Engineering Trade Cert IV - CNC Machining (desired but not essential)
- Previous experience operating 4-axis CNC mills (essential)
- Experience with HURCO Winmax CNC (desired but not essential)
- Experience with VISI CNC Cam software (desired but not essential)
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor 3D modelling software (desired but not essential)
- Previous experience operating manual lathes and mills (essential)
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques processes equipment and materials
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and adherence to industry standards
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities in a timely fashion to the required quality standard
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
Due to the nature of the role applicants must be eligible for an NV1 Australian Defence security clearance. Current security clearance is advantageous.
