We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Remote Building Services Technician to support facility operations across our distributed portfolio of commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building maintenance systems remote monitoring tools and technical troubleshooting. This role involves working closely with on-site facility personnel vendors and service providers to ensure all building systems operate efficiently safely and within compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor building systems remotely using BMS (Building Management Systems) CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and IoT monitoring tools.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to:
HVAC systems
Electrical distribution
Plumbing and water systems
Fire alarms and life safety equipment
Lighting and energy management systems
Coordinate on-site repairs by issuing work orders and providing technical guidance to field technicians.
Perform system performance analysis and recommend energy-saving improvements.
Respond to maintenance requests and alarms in real time.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs in CMMS.
Review compliance documentation to meet OSHA NFPA ASHRAE and state regulations.
Support preventive maintenance programs for assigned facilities.
Collaborate with vendors and service contractors to ensure timely and high-quality repairs.
Conduct virtual facility inspections and follow up on safety and operational deficiencies.
Provide weekly and monthly system performance reports to management.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.
3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or building services (commercial or industrial preferred).
Working knowledge of HVAC mechanical electrical or building automation systems.
Familiarity with CMMS and remote facility management platforms.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Proficient with remote collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams Zoom Slack).
Ability to manage time efficiently in a remote environment.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or trade school certification in Building Maintenance Engineering Facilities Management or related field.
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (608).
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
Experience with Siemens Honeywell Trane or Johnson Controls BMS platforms.
Knowledge of LEED or energy management practices.
Previous remote work or dispatch coordination experience.
