Job Summary

  • We are seeking a results-driven Production Supervisor to lead and support our high-performance production team in a fast-paced high-volume manufacturing environment. This key leadership position upholds a safety-first culture emphasizes continuous improvement and exemplifies servant leadership to foster an engaged motivated workforce.
  • As a Production Supervisor - 2nd shift you will be the first line leader to support team members within your area/zone. You will be responsible for coordinating safe and efficient day-to-day activities in order to maintain scheduled production requirements and to ensure your team is safe and successful.
  • This position will be based in Ripon WI. This position will be on 2nd shift Monday through Thursday 3:00pm to 1:00am. There may be occasional overtime required on Fridays from 1:00pm-9:00pm.

Position Responsibilities:

Primary duties:

  • Lead safety initiatives to create a culture of safety awareness and compliance
  • Educate train and motivate production Team Members on safety protocols and procedures
  • Creates an environment of continuous improvement and safety awareness for all Team Members
  • Empowers and expects every team member to contribute to continuous improvement
  • Demonstrates a core value of respectful treatment of all team members in every discussion interaction and decision
  • Coach and mentor production Team Members in best practices for safety and productivity
  • Desires to eliminate risks waste and to develop team member skill to improve lean operations
  • Ensure that employees are properly trained by their Team Leader or other designated trainer in the areas of safety quality equipment operation and 5S
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages team feedback and participation in safety initiatives
  • Interface with technical staff to ensure proper support
  • Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating metrics
  • Work to continuously improve processes and reduce inventories and work in progress
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues
  • Interface with Union Stewards in contract and discipline issues
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience/Education:

  • Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
  • A minimum of one to three years of experience in a medium/high volume fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on safety practices is preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing supervision experience would be preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
  • Previous professional internship or co-op experience will be taken into consideration as relevant experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities including providing coaching mentoring and supervision within a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel).
  • Strong problem-solving skills including encouraging others on your team to think proactively and create solutions.
  • Basic understanding of process control production scheduling Kaizen Kanban and Lean manufacturing is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stooping bending standing for long periods of time manual dexterity and being able to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
  • Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a medium/high volume fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on safety practices is preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing supervision experience would be preferred.
  • Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities including providing coaching mentoring and supervision within a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel).
  • Fast cycle times required.
  • Ability to maintain rates and production standards.
