We are seeking a compassionate skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to provide pre- intra- and post-procedural care in our cardiac catheterization lab. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with physicians interdisciplinary staff and patients in a fast-paced rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care during cardiac cath lab procedures including assessments planning implementation and evaluation.
- Rotate between pre/post-procedural care and cardiac cath lab procedural teams.
- Coordinate and document patient care in compliance with nursing standards regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
- Educate patients and families and assist with discharge planning.
- Collaborate with physicians ancillary staff and support personnel to maintain professional nursing standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to unit staff ensuring safe effective and patient-centered care.
- Maintain a safe work environment and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of procedures and proper storage of medical images for physician review.
- Monitor and report equipment malfunctions safety concerns and patient incidents promptly.
- Assist in managing cath lab supplies and inventory.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in Iowa or a multistate license eligible for Iowa practice.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- BCLS and ACLS certification.
- Iowa Mandatory Reporter Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Certificates.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in Emergency ICU or related nursing area.
- Prior experience in a cardiac cath lab is highly desirable.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to perform independently in a cath lab environment.
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations.
